Last week, Nathalie discovered beautiful “cudgels” between the filigree scales of a moth, whose surfaces resemble artificial nano-objects.
Unfortunately, we do not yet know the function of these cudgels. Are they feelers? Smell organs?
The cudgels have a total length of about 100µm, the diameters of the spherical elevations on the surface are about 1-2 µm.
